Global food insecurity has reached alarming levels due to the combined impacts of armed conflicts, climate-related disasters and economic instability. Ongoing wars disrupt agricultural production and supply chains, while extreme weather events such as droughts and floods threaten food systems worldwide. Rising inflation and debt crises further limit access to affordable and nutritious food, particularly in vulnerable regions. In this context, the World Food Programme must deliberate on strengthening emergency response mechanisms, ensuring humanitarian access, enhancing climate-resilient agriculture and mobilizing sustainable funding to prevent famine and build long-term food security.
